The alternative business networking club Chameleon Lounge formed in May 2010 is still enjoying it's once a month meetings with a good core of members set to be let loose on it's first corporate outing to Ffos Las races.
Dai Nicholas of NIC explains the simple concept:
"No joining on fee....meet last Wednesday of every month....put £20 in for your meal and we all save the change to have corporate outings!!.....the only stipulation is that we all need to have a sense of humour and be prepare to have a good laugh....we also have one informative talk from a member or a guest for 15minutes on various subjects from grant news, pensions, marketing, social media and banking"
Larger than life Chameleon Mike Davey partner at Solicitors DPA Law was quick to point out the essence;
"Whilst we socialise with family and friends and meet business associates to talk shop, we tend to forget that business can be fun too, this is an alternative way, where I now have business friends I can pick up the phone and get the answer to a whole array of specialist topics and don't feel I'm intruding on their time, laughing is the best ice breaker!.....it does cost me a few of my secrets however I've had a number of calls from Chameleons asking for tips on the horses...I'll be taking ear plugs to our first race day"
David Knight of Finance Wales who organised the inaugural event is already planning the next 2 after members doubled expected bookings.
